The relationship between sex and intimacy has long fascinated me. For some, it seems intrinsically connected, for others unseparable. For still others, sex is one thing while intimacy is something wholly different.
I’m interested in finding out how others feel about sex and intimacy. If you are interested in participating in a short questionnaire/interview, please leave me a comment. I’m currently compiling questions and you should receive them by the end of this week. If you’ve already contacted me via twitter, then I already have your name and information. I’d like to gather as many different points of views as possible to gain a better personal understanding of how people reconcile sex and intimacy, and I’ll publish the answers/responses here to share with everyone.
So, if you’re interested, just email me at soopercathead @ gmail dot com and answer all of the following questions, and if you know anyone else who might be interested in participating, please spread the word!

Age
How do you identify yourself sexually?
What is your current relationship status?
Can I publish your individual interview on my blog? If I publish it, can I use your name or would you prefer to be anonymous?
What does intimacy mean to you? How do you define intimacy?
Do you think that all acts of sex are necessarily intimate?
What about sex makes it intimate? Makes it not intimate?
When is sex intimate?
Are some sexual acts more intimate than others?
Is the act of sex an intimate act for you? Why or why not? Does it change depending on who your partners are?
How do you perceive the differing levels of intimacy when multiple partners are involved?
What about sex without intimacy, like sex between strangers? Can there still be a level of intimacy that builds between two people because of the act of sex itself?
What about intimacy in virtual relationships, like online where the sex itself may be virtual?
Please tell me a little bit about sex and intimacy in your own life.
Thank you!
