Fun Factory Laya Spot Review

Whoever came up with the design for the Fun Factory Laya Spot must have been having fun with it! A funny looking little two toned vibrator that is ergonomically curved to fit against the pubic mound, it certainly doesn’t look like any other vibrator you’ve ever seen before! In fact, depending on how you turn it, sometimes it kind of looks like a striped shoe, and sometimes it kind of looks like a killer whale. It’s definitely unusual!

When the Laya Spot first came out, it wasn’t actually on my list of must-have toys. I already owned a similar vibrator, the Lelo Lily, and I wondered how different the two toys could really be. But I kept hearing such good things about the Laya Spot and everyone who tried it had such wonderful things to say about it… Fun Factory toys have never let me down before, so I decided to give the Laya Spot a try.

Unlike most of my other toys, the Fun Factory Laya Spot takes two AAA batteries – not a battery that I usually have laying around, so I ended up robbing a TV remote for the batteries. Installation was nice and easy – the little cap on the end twists off, just pop in the batteries, twist it back on and it’s ready to go! The instructions were fairly self-explanatory, just press the “+” button until the vibe gets to the strength you want, and then the Laya Spot will automatically put the vibrations through a three stage cycle.

I think I might finally understand all of the buzz surrounding the Laya Spot! I’m a fan of strong vibrators, and most of the battery powered vibrators just can’t compare to my go-to vibrator, the Hitachi Magic Wand. But this funny little vibrator is strong! Really strong. And quiet, too! Even at the highest setting, I don’t think the noise was loud enough to be heard through our bedroom door. I was pretty impressed. The odd little curve fit right over the curve of my mons, and by parting my lips and putting the end right on top of my clitoris and wiggling it just a little, I found heaven and fast!

In fact, the Laya Spot has become my preferred vibrator of choice especially when we travel. I kept it in my purse on our trip up to St. Louis, and it fits perfectly between between the fabric of my panties and the cloth of my jeans – it definitely made the trip more interesting! Right now we’ve got it packed with our travel kit of toys and rope, and I think I’m going to be taking it to a play party later this month! And it cleans up very easily – I use an antibacterial spray toy cleaner. Just spray, wipe, and it’s ready to go!

The only problem I had with the Laya Spot was that the cap (on the end where that batteries go in) pops off rather easily. It hasn’t caused me any trouble so far, but it has popped off just as I was orgasming, and I would have been kind of pissed had it popped off a few minutes earlier, if you know what I mean!

EDIT: Problem solved! I tried Adriana’s advice in the comments to try tightening the cap an extra half turn, and it fixed the problem of the cap falling off! Thanks Adriana, and I now love my Laya Spot even more!

Thank you to the lovely people at Babeland for letting me try out this wonderful little vibrator!

I actually prefer my Nea over this, but thank you for the review! They are awfully damn pretty. :)

I’m a big fan too. Still need to do my review. I had the same cap problem and, as it turned out, I wasn’t turning it all the way so it wasn’t completely closed. That last little bit takes a little more effort and then it “snaps” shut. Maybe you are having the same problem?

Which say are you holding it to see the whale? LOL

Ugh! Commenting really took forever for some reason.

Great review. I always wanted to test it against Lily/Nea to see which I like best. I do like FF toys, but am in love with Lelo too. It is hard to be monogymous with toys!

My problem with a lot of the battery operated vibrators is that the vibrations are at too high a frequency. On my Magic Wand, i can’t come on the high speed setting, only the low – and the “powerful” battery vibes are more like the high speed setting. How would you rate the Laya Spot in terms of frequency?
